Isn't this beautiful? This is a picture of where I am on my 4000+ mile run from VA to OR... Across the US. I have only gone 11.6 miles so far but am very close to Williamsburg, VA. Easy? Oh Yeah!! I don't even have to wear a coat... I just login online and put in the miles I ran for the day and whaaa laaa... I am given this beautiful picture of where I am on my route. I like this virtual running thing... now if only I had a virtual breathing machine. hee hee.

No... it really is a fun way to track my miles. I started about 1 month ago with a goal to run a 5K by Thanksgiving. I am happy to say I am well on my way past that and now my goal is to run 6 miles on Thanksgiving with my Cousin Trevor in Prescott. He has assured me that he will not run ahead but thoroughly enjoy running and talking while I concentrate on running and breathing. Besides being 15 years younger, over 6 feet in height... he also is running about an 8 minute mile to my 11 - 12 minute mile. Add that to the altitude change and yes... I will be very much be concentrating on my breathing... thank you! I suggested he run ahead... reach the turn around point and head back my direction where upon I will turn around and follow him back home to my Uncle's home. I was way ok with that plan too!
I also am really enjoying this routine as I have found a couple of running buddies. One is my neighbor Germaine. She has run before so she really helps with the emotional jogging. All the mind games you play when starting to learn to enjoy running. She pushes me just the right amount. She is a great endurance runner and has a great sense of humor.
Then I just found out that MaKenna is planning a 1/2 marathon in Jan... and I was so excited. She is going to join us for the 1st time this Thurs. Yeah!! I will love spending time with Makenna again. We were ward missionary companions for awhile and I grew to just love her so much. She is right up there with Kelle Whitehead. So these two make my running experience something to look forward to.
Well if you happen to see me on a run... please don't honk... I might fall and hurt myself and then I will miss my 6 mile Turkey Trot in Prescott. Or... maybe on second thought you should honk.... hee hee :)

That is SO admirable. I always tell people, "I only run when I'm being chased." So you're doing way good compared to me!
I talked to Makenna about running together and when I found out how much she runs, I told her maybe not. I'm such a wimp!
But I can do 11-12 minute miles...
I've never heard of that virtual running, but it sounds fun.
Come on and join us! It would be great... And Amy... we have no problem chasing you!!!!
